Acupa is built around discretion. What he collects — and why: • Your chosen name (alias is fine) — so he knows what to call you • What you came to him for + the tone you prefer — so he can meet you properly • Your conversation — so he can remember, if you allow it • Notes in the Tea Ledger — ones you ask him to hold, and on paid plans, key details he saves from your conversations so he can remember them. You can see, edit, or delete every one • Your IP address, briefly — used only for security, fraud and abuse prevention, and enforcing free usage limits; never to locate or profile you That's it. It's the minimum needed for him to work. What he never collects: • Email, location, contacts, photos, phone number • Anything from outside this app Your memory, your choice: • During setup (and any time in Tea Ledger → Privacy & Memory) you choose whether Acupa may save personal details. • Memory off = each visit starts fresh, and he won't reference stored notes. • You can see, edit, or delete every individual memory. You can clear all conversations. You can delete your entire account and data from inside the app — removal from our database is immediate. Linking devices: • "Link another device" shares only your subscription tier between your own devices, via a one-time 6-character code that expires in 15 minutes. It never moves conversations, memories, or Ledger notes — each device keeps its own. Who receives your data: • Our AI provider processes your messages to generate Acupa's replies (under contracts that prohibit training on your content). • Apple handles payments in the native app. • Nobody else. Conversations are never sold, never used for advertising, never used to train AI models. How long we keep it: • Until you delete it. Deleting a memory, a conversation, or your account removes it from our database immediately. Security: • Your data is encrypted in transit and stored securely. About ads: • Paid tiers (Slow Brew, Venti) are completely ad-free. • Free tier shows one small ad only when your daily Teas run out — never inside your conversation. No pop-ups, no video ads, no interstitials. • Ads are non-personalized (contextual only). We do not track you across other apps. About crisis detection: • Acupa is NOT a crisis service. He's an AI companion app. • When his safety filter detects you might be in crisis, he immediately shows real helpline numbers — 988 (US), Samaritans, Trevor Project, Find a Helpline — and advises 911 or your local emergency service if you're in immediate danger. • Acupa cannot contact emergency services for you. Please reach those services — they have trained humans who can actually help.
